GovFest 2026 Band Listing
Battle Round #1 at Supermarket Bar and Variety
Black Creek Reign
Black Creek Reign is a Toronto-based Caribbean Alternative Rock band known for blending reggae, rock, funk, soca, and island rhythms into a sound that feels both familiar and distinctly their own. Built around powerful guitars, driving grooves, melodic hooks, and the energy of Caribbean music, the band reflects the multicultural character of Toronto while staying deeply connected to its Trinidadian roots. The current lineup features Darren Armoogam on guitar and vocals, LOGUN on vocals, Lex Stultz on bass, and Aaron “LoveSound” Seunarine on drums. Together, they create a live show that moves easily between heavy guitar-driven moments, laid-back reggae grooves, funk-inspired rhythms, and high-energy Caribbean influences. Their music is designed to connect with audiences across genres, whether they come from rock, reggae, alternative, soca, or world music backgrounds.
Treblemakers
Our band produces a lot of treble. Some bass too. But who cares about that? Apparently some do but what do they know? We are 6 sloppy Joes (and a Jane) out of Uxbridge. Ok, only one of us is actually named Joe. We play pretty loud, when they let us. So If you like loud rock music you will enjoy the Treblemakers! If you don't, there is something wrong with you.
Rebel and A Runner
Rebel and a Runner are a five-piece Guelph band bringing big vocals, amazing instrumentals, and, most importantly, good vibes. They make music for people who like a little grit, a lot of energy, and a whole lot of fun. Although newly formed, these performers each bring years of experience performing at festivals, in musical theatre, and at venues across Ontario. Put them together, turn it up, and you’ve got a band that knows how to put on a show.
Flight Risk
FLIGHT RISK is a Toronto-based five-piece original band blending the raw energy of rock with the soul of blues, the groove of funk and the feel of R&B. Built around powerful vocals, expressive guitars, driving basslines, keyboards and a dynamic rhythm section, Flight Risk creates music that crosses genres without being defined by any one of them. Their original songs combine memorable melodies, strong grooves and thoughtful lyrics, drawing inspiration from life, relationships and the world around them. At the heart of Flight Risk is a shared passion for songwriting and creating music that feels real. Each member brings a different musical perspective to the band, giving their songs a distinctive sound that can move from soulful and atmospheric to gritty, powerful and driving. On stage, Flight Risk brings those songs to life with energy, musicianship and a genuine connection with the audience. Original music. Real musicians. No boundaries.

By day, frontman Dan puts out literal fires. By night, he and his bandmates Aaron (bass) and David (drums) are entirely focused on starting them on stage. Never Better is a Toronto indie-rock trio making upbeat, hopeful anthems about things not going quite right—especially relationships. They might sing about things going up in flames, but you are in perfectly safe hands.

The One-Offs
The One-Offs are a bunch of musicians who happen to also work for Toronto Transportation Services. We are looking forward to this, our fourth year playing in Govfest. We play a mixed bag of newish and retro alternative rock with one goal: get you dancing and singing!!
Green Division
Formed in the early 2000s in Pickering, Green Division was a fixture of the GTA ska/punk scene, with their high energy shows, and unique blend of happy-go-lucky ska tones, mixed with face pounding metal breakdowns. After a two decade hiatus where they got jobs (including in government), started families, and became little league coaches, they are back to get you up on your feet, and skanking the night away.
Evening Brunch
Evening Brunch is what happens when five friends decide that brunch shouldn’t be limited to mornings and good music shouldn’t be limited to one genre. Featuring Keenan on lead vocals, Ben on guitar and vocals, Jake on drums, Erin on keys, and Joey on bass, Evening Brunch brings a high-energy mix of rock, pop, R&B, and whatever else gets people singing along. From crowd-favourite covers to a few originals of their own, they’re all about big energy, good vibes, and having way too much fun on stage. They’ve played everything from bars and breweries to weddings and special events, and no matter the venue, the goal is always the same: get the crowd moving, singing, and maybe questioning why they didn’t invite Evening Brunch to their last party. So grab a drink, forget what time brunch is supposed to end, and make some noise for EVENING BRUNCH! 🎸🥁🎤

The Invisible Hands
A band of economists, they like it loud and they take no prisoners! The Invisible Hands bring a setlist loaded with your favourite classic punk, grunge, and alternative rock hits + some surprises you won’t want to miss!
The Final Final
Named to make light of the mind-numbing nature of government approvals (“but is it the FINAL final?”) this four-piece brings together members of past Govfest acts like the Secondments and Late Shift, backed by a second generation Govfest drummer. The Final Final pulls from a lot of inspirations, but most of what comes out ends up sounding like various subgenres of rock (alt? hard? indie?) with occasional dalliances into punk tunes. 2026 marks The Final Final's sixth straight appearance at Govfest, and with your support they hope to replicate their success of making the Finale last year!
The Last Minutemen
Hailing from the West End, with questionable amounts of caffeine and just enough vacation time to make it here, please welcome The Last Minutemen! They've skipped the consultation, ignored the stakeholder feedback, and decided that tonight's deliverable is groove! So shelve your action items, take yourself off mute, and make some noise for The Last Minutemen!
The Swinging Pussycats
The Swinging Pussycats have been bringing their brand of 60’s inspired rock-n-roll, incorporating elements of reverb-drenched surf, garage rock and girl-group pop to audiences for more than a decade. Their sound is inspired by harmonic proto-punks such as the Ramones, fuzzy psychobillies The Cramps, Link Wray, Italian western soundtracks, 60’s beach movies and Japanese power pop that Sassy discovered while living overseas. The primary focus is using three or four chords to convince people to move their feet. Song themes tend to tackle the big questions – such as what would happen if a Beach party was disrupted by a volcano eruption and/or zombies.
Battle Round #6 at The Duke
Midnight Preachers
Midnight Preachers are a family duo out of Sudbury Ontario. Their sound is a blend of smooth melodic vibes over well known but under appreciated easy listening rock. Privileged & Confidential
Privileged & Confidential is a six-piece rock band whose members are all lawyers and whose instruments have so far survived redaction. Led by two killer vocalists, and an ability to object to anything, they bring courtroom precision to rock'n'roll chaos. Their sound is loud, unapologetic and occasionally admissible. They've drafted legal opinions, negotiated agreements and now they're taking their best arguments to the stage. No risk assessments or mitigation strategies tonight - just riffs, volume and six lawyers ready to make some noise. Consider this your formal notice: Privileged & Confidential has entered the building!
The Binds
Forming in the summer of 2014, The Binds have been bringing their flavour of blues, funk, and alternative rock to the Toronto music scene. After playing under a different band name for almost 3 years, the band changed direction and attitude in 2017, going full force with their craft. Fusing elements of a multitude of styles and artists, they have found an intricate, musically expressive niche to explore their sound. The Binds are sure to be a funky, bluesy, raunchy, treat to the ears.

The Precedents
Holy stare decisis, The Precedents are back! The Precedents are an all-OPS cover band made up of lawyers, whom some (mostly family and close friends) have described as talented, energetic and charismatic! On this year’s docket, the band stands charged with bringing down the (court)house. Incapable of being overturned, and endearing beyond all reasonable doubt, The Precedents’ blend of symphonic justice is beyond objection!
New Original Cyn
The desire to make music and a series of chance encounters brought together these five musicians. Over time and with lots of experimentation, they continue to develop their own sound. Tonight, they return after a 1 year hiatus with some new tunes and a few old favourites.
