GovFest Kingston

The Kingston music community is always enthusiastic to support Govfest and the local United Way. Resuming in 2023 after brief hiatus, Govfest Kingston has transitioned from a battle of the bands layout to a showcase of talent that has been incredibly successful.

The 2023 and 2024 events were held at The Buckle, a Nashville-themed bar that is one of Kingston’s biggest supporters and advocates for live music. For 2023, there were over 100 people in attendance for the showcase of talent that featured six local Kingston bands. This event saw over 50 local businesses donate prizes and items for raffles and silent auctions, and altogether the event raised over $2,200 for the United Way and Ryan’s Well.

2024 was even better, again being held at The Buckle and being attended by over 100 people. This time around we received incredible support from the local United Way campaign leaders and chairs, and were able to secure donations from more than 60 businesses for a very successful auction and raffle.

We had six incredible bands entertain the crowd from start to finish and it was truly a special night. The 2024 show raised $2,740 in total, all of which was donated directly to the United Way of Kingston, Frontenac, Lennox & Addington.

We continue to grow the event and it has become something that many in the very supportive Kingston music community look forward to and ask about frequently. We anticipate an even more successful year this year and look forward to another incredible night of music, community, and supporting the local United Way.
